Federal bankruptcy court experience, and published scholarship on how boards and regulators act when the risk in front of them cannot be measured.

About

My work has centered on insolvency and the courts. I spent a summer drafting summary judgments and fee-motion memoranda for a federal bankruptcy judge in the Southern District of Texas, externed at a California appellate court and an Illinois circuit court, and spent a clinic semester filing trademark applications for university startups.

Before law I spent five years studying how images and institutions persuade: a master's in the history of art and architecture at Boston University, and a bachelor's in advertising at Soochow University. It taught me to read a record slowly, and to write for the person who has to decide.

My scholarship follows that question into regulated industry. I have written on cyber-threats and self-dealing in corporate governance, and, with Professor Arden Rowell, on managing uncertainty in nuclear energy regulation.
